Why microsuction
Safer than syringing.
Recommended by the NHS.
Peninsula Ear Care does not use or recommend syringing. This follows NHS recommendations. Microsuction is the safest method of removing foreign bodies, wax and infective matter from the ears — it greatly reduces mess and discomfort compared to traditional techniques.
Some centres promote alternative treatments including candling, but the NHS doesn’t support this — there is no physical benefit and there is a risk of harm including burns. Microsuction is quick, clean, and far more effective.

Meet Tim Needham
Tim is an Advanced Paramedic registered with the Health Care Professions Council, with a long history of working in Urgent and Emergency medicine as well as General Practice in Plymouth. He is the principal clinician at both Peninsula Ear Care and Tamar Health.
Peninsula Ear Care has now rebranded as Tamar Health, a CQC-registered private clinic offering ear care alongside a wider range of health services from our new clinic in Estover, Plymouth.
